Siemens builds national VoIP network for Air China
Shanghai, July 2005

Leveraging on the existing nationwide IP data network of Air China Limited (Air China), Siemens Business Communication Systems ltd. (SBCS) has successfully implemented a highly comprehensive Voice over IP (IP) network across the country, providing cost-efficient and reliable communication services to the entire operation network of the leading aviation giant headquartered in Beijing.

SBCS has provided totally 5 HiPath 4500 IP communication platforms to the branch offices of Air China, separately located at Chengdu, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Tianjin and Inner Mongolia. By fully utilizing the existing IP network of Air China spanning across the country, the VoIP network interconnecting branch offices is enabled to offer cost-efficient and highly reliable communication services to the global operation networks of Air China. The deployment has greatly optimized the business processes and effectively lowered down the communication cost for such a highly sophisticated network.

The establishment of VoIP network for Air China is a successful addition to its integrated dispatching system provided by SBCS in 2003, which significantly improves the air/ ground dispatching communication in air flight operation.

Mr. Roland Bernshaus, the President & CEO of SBCS says, “The communication network for Air China is one of the largest VoIP projects that we have provided to China market. We highly appreciate the recognition from Air China who has chosen Siemens for its long-term communication partner. ” Until today, Siemens has already successfully provided world-class dispatching communication solutions to most of the leading aviation companies in China, including Air China, Eastern Airlines and China Southern, as such occupying a dominant market share in China aviation communication industry.
